Government Relations

Mission Statement

We work in collaboration with AIA National and AIA Tennessee to advocate on the federal, state, and local levels. By advocating for solutions within the built environment to address issues like school safety, climate change, and affordable housing, architects can be at the forefront of solving these critical challenges. The more architects work with state and local elected officials, the greater the positive impact on these and other important issues facing the profession, the business, and our communities.

Vision Statement

The purpose of the AIA Middle Tennessee Government Relations Committee is to inform, educate, advocate, and collaborate.

Goals

  1. INFORM by keeping AIA Middle Tennessee members informed about policy issues that affect their projects, businesses, and communities.
  1. EDUCATE by providing technical expertise to support local policymakers and elected officials in making informed decisions.
  2. ADVOCATE by giving voice to shared values of our members to influence the shape of our neighborhoods and our world.
  3. COLLABORATE by joining with allied professionals and community partners to advance shared interests.
