05 May ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER II
Comma Designworks is a small collective interested in all facets of design and development. We are a full-service, Nashville based architectural design firm established in 2020 with a simple goal: take a fresh look at the services architects provide through the lens of modern technology, construction techniques, and processes, and recalibrate an architectural practice to the modern world. Comma has experience in a variety of project types, including but not limited to: Mixed-Use Multifamily, Hospitality, Office (shell/build-out), and Retail. We work through the entire design process, from design conception to project completion. We are a small firm geared for expansion, looking for the right candidate to add to our studio.
The newest team member can expect a great potential for growth relative to industry standards. With that opportunity comes a greater amount of responsibility than a typical Architect position. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, problem solver, and interested in taking on substantial responsibility quickly. Team members work on project documentation ranging from conceptual design to construction documents, in-the-field construction oversight (Construction Administration), and generating detailed drawings using Revit and other design software for planning, design, and construction of projects. The candidate will work both individually and as part of a team to assist in the coordination and preparation of construction documents and details.
Our team members perform work in an open studio environment and will be immediately included in collaborative, design-focused meetings, both internal and with the consultant/owner team. You may coordinate with team members in other disciplines to work on various projects for clients. In this position, you report directly to the Director of Architecture. The candidate should be motivated to take on new and challenging tasks and will ultimately manage project design and schedules, and will have the opportunity to manage team members in the future. The candidate must have a desire to attend trainings and professional meetings to keep informed on new design criteria and policies. The position may require occasional travel to project site locations or to various client offices. On-site work may include walking the project to verify construction progress, taking construction progress photos, and completing field reports.
