Risk Strategies

Each year, in partnership with AIA Middle TN, Risk Strategies, presents an all-day seminar on legal issues and risks in the construction field, and how to best mitigate those risks. Position Summary

As a Project Manager for the Justice + Civic Sector in DLR Group’s newest office, you will be responsible for leading projects on budget and schedule while delivering design excellence. As part of our integrated design team, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

You'll provide hands-on supervision to architectural, engineering, and design staff during all phases of the project as well as partner with vendors and consultants as needed for small, medium, and large complex projects. Additionally, you will be expected to lead interviews in front of clients to win work.

The successful candidate will:

-Handle complex Justice + Civic projects at various scales.

-Develop project Work Plans (schedule, budget, cartoon set) for project success.

-Be responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.

-Serve as primary contact with clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and with a focus on client trust, rapport, and satisfaction.

-Understand Business Development, and genuinely and consistently build and maintain ongoing professional relationships with the clients.

-Coordinate with the Business Development leader to attend client events, fundraisers, and other events within the city.

-Proactively and creatively manage client budgets, schedules, and programs, project communications and documentation, office administrative tasks, and project team assignments.

-Participate in regular office and regional staffing meetings.

-Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts.

-Assist in winning work and possess great communication and presentation skills.

-Have knowledge of programming and planning.

Required Qualifications:

-8-15+ years of experience, with at least 4 years of experience successfully leading large-scale Architecture projects

-Professional degree in Architecture

-Excellent communication and public speaking skills to participate in interviews and client presentations

-Ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks

-Technical experience in leading construction administration efforts

-Knowledge of building code and construction methods

Preferred Qualifications:

-Planifi and/or Deltek Vantagepoint experience

-5+ years of experience leading and working on Justice + Civic (Detention, Corrections, Courthouses, Public Safety, Municipal, Federal/State/County/City) projects

-Proficiency in the use of REVIT and CAD computer modeling and rendering software

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up, and other design software

-LEED Accreditation

-Experience and interest in sustainable building design
