Pharmacies are a critical department of every facility, but one that may be unfamiliar or goes overlooked. Without basic knowledge and understanding, designers are forced to rely solely on the local facility for direction. We will review general pharmacy considerations, organizational concepts and workflows to assist in problem-solving with these facilities and their pharmacy teams. There will also be exploration of the proposed new regulations and the implications to gain compliance when moving from USP 797 to the upcoming USP Chapter 800.
