SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Position Overview:

Smith Gee Studio is seeking a licensed (or on path to licensure) senior architectural designer with a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program. At least 5+ years of related working experience preferred.

The role would include engaging in project development. Independently performing a variety of assignments requiring skills in design, technical solutions and documentation for projects of various size and complexity.  Collaborating with team members on design execution. Performing analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and design layouts.  Showing inclusion by incorporating their teammates’ ideas into project designs.  Capable of understanding and assisting with the preparation of project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant project data.  The role also requires the ability to provided technical guidance to less experienced team members

Responsibilities:

• Ability to lead the design, drawing, and documentation process
• Developed skill sets in design and construction documentation & able to teach others
• Ability to coordinate with team members, sub-consultants, vendors, and stakeholders
• Ability to review own work and work of designers
• Ability to assist and guide designers and answer technical questions
• Demonstrates all of the key requirements of team work

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
• Anticipated experience level as an Architectural Designer ranges from 4+ years (office experience preferred)
• Proficient and recent experience in using Revit to create architectural construction document
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience and proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe programs, Lumion and/or Enscape preferred
